Ganesh Festival, Paris
In a relatively small area behind the Gare du Nord station in Paris there is a large Indian community, each year in celebration of the Hindu God Ganesh a procession carrying a statue of Ganesh makes its way through the streets of Paris.
Behind the Gare du Nord in the area consisting of the rue Cail, Perdonnet and the Faubourg saint Denis these roads are closed to traffic and the numerous restaurants on the rue Cail place tables outside in the street turning the area into one huge open air restaurant.
Here are a few shots from the celebrations today shot on my iPhone after I'd eaten my lunch which by the way was delicious.
